Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features text commentary of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar and following last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests was the number of infractions each committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, who play in London this weekend.

But it was positive to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have that deficit and then direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, to win the game by four points.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending more than four pass rushers but they could plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled big while new running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a team aiming to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, being able to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by the blitz. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

When you constantly run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to be in play for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense has to cover the area vertically side to side. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.

The head coach has won a championship and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix aids make him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to face a top squad at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do to continue this trajectory.

They excel at embracing their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do against the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the NFL started recording takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
