Emma Raducanu advanced to round three in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions this season as a result of a health issue that has affected her over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was scheduled to compete in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to rest and recuperate before starting her preparations for 2026.

These plans will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan and withdrew when trailing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was with clear difficulty in the deciding set in the match with Zhu due to a lower back issue that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Those results meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points then was defeated by Jessica Pegula in the third stage in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but her most impressive week was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
